
AMRITSAR SAHIB, Punjab—On the eve of the new year, Deputy CM of Punjab and ruling Shiromani Akali Dal’s President Sukhbir Badal inaugurated four hi-tech multimedia centres built into the basement of the new entrance plaza of Sri Darbar Sahib, Amritsar.
Speaking with media at the opening event, Sukhbir said that the Punjab government spent 223 crores on these new multimedia centres that will apprise visitors with the of Sri Harmandir Sahib. He announced that for some time these multimedia centres will broadcast four 45 minute shows daily and these centers will remain operative for 10 hours a day, which will be extended later.
He announced that the process of installing new lighting equipment around the periphery of Sri Harmandir Sahib will be started on the eve of Maghi, on January 14. He claimed that the new lighting effect to be installed in Sri Darbar Sahib will be the first of it’s kind in India.
“Sikh devotees will receive a daily glimpse of deepmala and the colour shades of lights will also change in fixed intervals which will give an great look to Sri Darbar Sahib”, he maintained.
