IMG_4288HOSHIARPUR, Punjab—In a strong rebuttal to Sukhbir Badal for blaming Dal Khalsa and other Sikh groups for disturbing communal harmony and clubbing them with the Congress, the Dal Khalsa said that contrary to such remarks, it was Deputy Chief Minister’s politically managed move to pardon Gurmeet Ram Rahim that has put Punjab on boil.

Instead of owning his own socio-political follies and faults that vitiated peaceful atmosphere of Punjab, Sukhbir Badal was trying to point fingers towards others, said Dal Khalsa head H S Dhami and spokesperson Kanwar Pal Singh.

“Call it people’s upsurge or upheaval, but one thing is clear and that the situation has precipitated because people were angry with the present day rulers for their utter failure to expose the hidden forces and the design behind the sacrilege incidents and denial of justice to victims of police firing, they observed,” said Kanwarpal Singh.

Notably, Sukhbir while speaking to media in Hoshiarpur said that the proposed grand alliance by Captain Amrinder Singh for 2017 assemble elections would have likes of Akali Dal Mann, Panch Pardani and Dal Khalsa that had organized the November 10 congregation.

Refuting all allegations leveled by Sukhbir Badal, Dal Khalsa clarified their party position on all related issues.  Kanwar Pal Singh said it was an open secret that they were neither part of ‘Sarbat Khalsa’ nor do they subscribe to its decisions. Secondly, it’s almost eight years that their group have declared that they won’t participate in any parliamentary elections under Indian dispensation. Thirdly, ever since their group have staged a political comeback in 1998, their actions and activities have been peaceful and well within democratic norms.  Fourthly, we had no truck (personal or public) with Captain Amrinder Singh nor do we approve his brand of politics, he added.

Reiterating their stand for Sovereign Sikh state, Singh said Dal Khalsa would be pursuing ideological politics to achieve its mission.

Dal Khalsa warned Sukhbir to stop throwing muck on them and rather change his feudal mindset as it was not only damaging his personality but reputation of Akali Dal too.  “The crowd at Nov 10 congregation doesn’t belong to any particular political shade but general masses that have assembled to air their resentment and send stern warning to rulers that they should stop taking Panth for granted”.

Referring to Punjab government decision to hand over the three sacrilege cases to CBI to unearth the conspiracy and conspirators, they asked how come Akalis that used to describe the CBI as Congress Bureau of Investigation has all of sudden found faith in the agency.
