BATHINDA, Punjab—In a press conference at Bathinda, Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) and United Akali Dal announced a meeting on October 31 in Jalandhar, about the upcoming ‘Sarbat Khalsa’ .
Addressing the media, S. Simranjit Singh Mann announced that the invitation letters for meeting has been sent to representatives of all Sikh bodies, intellectuals, writers and distinguished personalities. He said that a course of action about the ‘Sarbat Khalsa’ will be chalked out in the meeting. He also announced to deliberate upon the appointment and jurisdiction of Takht Jathedars in the meeting. He highly appreciated the move of ‘Panj Pyare’ in terminating the current Takht Jathedars.
General Secretary of United Akali Dal Bhai Gurdeep Singh Bathinda announced that a hi-tech control room in Amritsar is being setup to facilitate information exchange about the ‘Sarbat Khalsa’.
General Secretary of Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) S. Jaskaran Singh Kahan Singh Wala urged the SGPC President Avtar Singh Makkar to facilitate Manji Sahib Hall for the Sarbat Khalsa. He said that Gurdwaras are meant for all Sikhs and the President should immediately allow them to conduct the ‘Sarbat Khalsa’ there.
