GURDASPUR, Punjab (April 13, 2015)—Setting another example of their affection toward Hindu terrorist forces like Shiv Sena, today the Punjabi Chief Minister and DGP Sumedh Saini expressed deep worry over the attack on the Shiv Sena senior leader Harvinder Soni. Hours after the incident, two Sikh youth named Kashmir Singh and Inderpal Singh based in Khanna were arrested.
During his visit to Soni, infamous cop Sumedh Saini who violated human rights on mass level during the Sikh movement of 1980s, assured his family to provide aid in every respect. While talking to media persons, he ruled out any possibility of rise of militancy in the state. He said that there might be hands of some ‘radical’ Sikh organisations behind the attack and the organizations are under their surveillance.
Parkash Badal also met him and inquired about his health condition.
It has been reported by the police that the Sikh youth who allegedly shot at Soni in Gurdaspur were shouting the slogans of ‘Bole So Nihal’ and ‘Khalistan Zindabad’. The attack left Soni injured seriously. Panthik leaders have expressed concern over the attack and labelled it as a pre-planned plot to nab local Sikh activists. It is important to mention that Sikh youth arrested after the incident were key witnesses in the case of murder of Bhai Jaspal Singh Chaur Sidhwan who was gunned down by the cops during a peaceful protest staged by Sikhs against death sentence of Bhai Balwant Singh Rajoana.
Police has shared statements by the Sikh Youth “gloryfing” the attack on Shiv Sena leader, however their families have denounced such statements, announcing that they must have been made under police pressure.
