CHANDIGARH, Punjab (February 22, 2014)—Punjab Government is still undecided as to whether Bhai Gurmeet Singh, and Bhai Shamsher Singh, should be released.
Both men are currently serving life sentences in Burail Jail for their roles in the assassination of the blood thirsty Punjab Chief Minister Beant “Singh”. Both appeared in Punjab at Haryana High Court on Tuesday to finally hear its decision on their ‘premature release.’
During the resumed hearing of the case on Tuesday, the Punjab government again failed to make clear its stand regarding the release of these Gursikhs. The court was annoyed when Punjab Government requested more time to file its reply.
The division bench headed by justice Rajive Bhalla has given the Chandigarh administration a further six weeks to make its final decision.
