CHANDIGARH (February 17, 2014)—Bibi Kamaldeep Kaur is said to have approached Baba Harnam Singh Dhumma and sought his support in the forthcoming [Lok Sabha] poll. In a letter addressed to [Baba] Harnam Singh, she has requested through him the entire Sant Samaj to support her in her effort to contribute to the Sikh community’s struggle. Bibi Kamaldeep Kaur is contesting the upcoming elections from Patiala.
Baba Dhumma, chief Damdami Taksal and Sant Samaj Union, on Monday met Bhai Balwant Singh Rajoana, who is sentenced to death for killing former Punjab chief minister Beant.
Kamaldeep Kaur confirmed that she approached Baba Dhumma after her brother had deliberated with him in Patiala jail. Rajoana had requested Dhumma to extend the support of Sikh religious organizations to his sister in her political endeavour.
It is important to remember that Baba Dhumma is in alliance with Badal Akali Dal to give support from both Damdami Taksal and Sant Samaj to Badal in election. Kamaldeep Kaur will be running against Badal and the conflict of interest will be a dilemma for Dhumma.
