BATHINDA, Punjab (February 21, 2014)— Prof. Baljinder Singh Morjand, vice president of Rajasthan Sikh Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (Adhoc), today, made an appeal to Khalsa Panth to aid seven Sikhs—Bhai Balkaran Singh Khalsa, Shivraj Singh, Amarjit singh, Gurpreet Singh, Gurwinder Singh, Nirmal Singh, and Raju Singh who were punished for an alleged provocative demonstration held in Dabwali (Haryana) after the killing of Bhai Harminder Singh by the members of the Sirsa cult.
All seven Singhs are behind the bars in Sirsa Jail.
“All these Sikhs belong to poor families and after getting punished, the conditions of their families have deteriorated further. Thus they are unable to pursue the cases filed against them”, Prof. Baljinder Singh said in a statement, adding, “the cases were filed against them on July 17, 2008, on the basis of three unnamed FIRs which were similar to each other. On August 12, 2008, the Singhs were arrested, and on December 12, they received bail. One case was dismissed on July, 2013, and the remaining cases of 307, and 436, they were awarded sentence for seven and five years respectively. On other side, Dera followers were acquitted in the case of 307 “.
Bhai Balkaran Singh is district Jathedar of Akali Dal (Panch Pardhani), a political party fighting for sovereign Sikh state by democratic means.

Bhai Harminder Singh Dabwali
Sri Akal Takht Sahib, in 2007, issued an edict (Hukamnama) against Dera Sirsa, and its head Gurmeet Ram Rahim for his blasphemous act. The edict asked Sikhs to boycott the Dera, and its followers completely, and to stop their activity. In order to ensure implementation of the edict, Sikhs have endured many sacrifices including the martyrdom’s of Bhai Kamaljit Singh, Bhai Balkar Singh, and Bhai Harminder Singh Dabwali. On the other hand, governments including Punjab’s so called Panthik government, have been giving shelter to Dera followers, despite their anti-Sikh activities.
