
AMRITSAR SAHIB, Punjab—Charnjit Chadha, the serving President of Chief Khalsa Diwan and Vice Chairman of Khalsa College’s governing council, has been removed from the post of presidency as his objectionable video with a lady in his office has gone viral over social media. In video, Charnjit Chadha could be seen in an extremely intimate position with an unidentified woman.
Sikh24 has learnt that more than two dozen members of Chief Khalsa Diwan today staged a peaceful protest seeking resignation of Charnjit Chadha on moral grounds. In the evening, the Management of Chief Khalsa Diwan appointed its Vice-President Dhanraj Singh as an acting President of CKD.
Interacting with media after getting appointed as an acting President, S. Dhanraj Singh said that the allegations against Charnjit Chadha will be probed thoroughly and a meeting of CKD members will be called upon soon to elect new President of Chief Khalsa Diwan.
Meanwhile, Charnjit Chadha has refuted the allegations against him. He has said that the viral video was not of him and he was being targeted under a highly deliberated policy.
Chief Khalsa Diwan is a central organization of various Singh Sabhas spread all over Punjab with the mission to promote the aspirations and redress grievances of the Sikh public, settle their religious differences and channelize Sikh public opinion. Its primary aim is to promote the spiritual, intellectual, moral, social, educational and economic welfare of the Sikhs as well as to safe-guard the political rights by making the Government aware of the problems, needs and grievances of the Sikh community.
