AMRITSAR SAHIB, Punjab—The investigation committee appointed by the SGPC to probe the imitation of the Sikh ardas, submitted its report to the SGPC Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Gurbachan Singh yesterday. The SGPC appointed Five Singh Sahibans will deliberate upon the report on January 8 at Sri Akal Takht Sahib.
The Sikh ardas was imitated and conducted by Hindu priests on the eve of the opening the election office for Akali minister Sikandar Maluka in Rampura Phool,
Interacting with media, Giani Gurbachan Singh said that Satnam Singh Pipli Wala has sent his clarification regarding the usage of inappropriate words for Mata Gujar Kaur Ji which will also be discussed in Singh Sahibans meeting on January 8.
It is learnt, however, that none of SGPC appointed committee members went to Rampura Phool to personally get the details of incident, instead the report was prepared from input of political figures in Rampura Phool. Sources have informed Sikh24 that the SGPC appointed committee has made arrangements to give a clean chit to Sikandar Maluka.
On being questioned about the facts of report, SGPC’s general secretary Amarjit Singh Chawla refused to share any aspects until the SGPC Jathedars had deliberated on them.
Meanwhile, the Sikh Council UK issued a statement strongly condemning the offensive distortion of the Sikh Ardas. Similar statements have been echoed by Sikh organizations and Gurdwara Sahibs across the world.
