
AMRITSAR SAHIB, Punjab—Nearly six years after laying the foundation stone for the ‘Sikh Genocide Memorial’ at Hondh Chillar, the SGPC has announced they will begin to arrange the completion of the project. The newly appointed President of SGPC Prof. Kirpal Singh Badungar has said that the SGPC was trying to begin the project at the earliest to pay tribute to the victims of the massacre.

Manvinder Singh Giaspura, had unearthed the remains of 32 Sikhs at the village of Hondh Chillar, near Gurgaon in Haryana, who had been massacred en-mass by a Hindu mobs during the 1984 Sikh genocide. Giaspura was unfairly dismissed from his employment as an engineer, after he discovered and exposed the barbaric find in 2010.
Speaking to media, Prof. Kirpal Singh Badungar said that the Sikh community was facing a lot of challenges at present and we need to sit together to tackle these challenges. He added that the SGPC has also contacted Manvinder Singh Giaspura to get his input for the project.
