
MALERKOTLA, Punjab—AAP legislator from Mehrauli (South Delhi) Naresh Kumar Yadav was granted bail by the Sub-Divisional Magistrate Preeti Sukhija on August 1 in case of desecrating Quran. It is notable here that earlier his bail plea was rejected by the same judge on July 28.
Addressing the media outside the court complex, legislator Naresh Kumar Yadav said that he believes in the Indian judiciary as he himself is a lawyer. He added that he was representing a legislative constituency in the Delhi assembly and couldn’t even think of harming communal harmony by any means. Expressing faith in judiciary, he said that he was adamant on his belief that he would get justice.
Naresh Kumar was arrested in the Quran sacrilege case on the confessions of one among three arrested fin the case. Vijay Kumar had confessed to the police that he was suggested to set ablaze Quran in Malerkotla by AAP legislator Naresh Kumar. Vijay Kumar had alleged that Naresh Kumar wanted to disturb the communal harmony in the state in wake of upcoming assembly polls. However, the AAP leadership had been refuting the allegations by alleging Vijay Kumar a professional criminal and an activist of RSS.
