LUDHIANA, Punjab—Arvind Kejriwal’s car was attacked earlier today near Ludhiana. Some unidentified persons attacked his car with sticks and pelted stones. Front glass pane of his car was reportedly broken during the attack, however he escaped the attack.
A tweet by Arvind Kejriwal on his official Twitter account reads, “My car attacked with sticks and stones in Ludhiana. Front glass pane broken. Badals n Congress nervous? They can’t break my spirits.”

In a statement, DS Gill of IHRO stated, “IHRO International Human Rights Organization strongly condemned this attack and termed it as an cowardly act culminated out of frustration. This trend is a serious matter and a threat to democratic process in the state. People would give their verdict in 2017 election, if democracy prevailed till then.”
Kanwar Sandhu, a prominent journalist from Punjab who had recently joined the Aam Aadmi Party stated, “Political parties indulging in violent protests against Arvind Kejriwal’s peaceful visit only adding strength to AAP in Punjab.”
Ashish Khetan, a leader of the party has held the Punjab Government responsible for the attack on Kejriwal’s car. A tweet by Ashish Khetan reads, “In a well-orchestrated attack, the goons sent by Badals attacked Kejriwal’s car with stones & rods as police stood by.”
