CHANDIGARH, Punjab—An exclusive meeting was held between Baba Harnaam Singh Dhumma and Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Badal. Others present at the meeting included Bhai Jasbir Singh Rode, Baba Lakha Singh from Nanaksar, Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Badal, Sukhdev Dhindsa, Balwinder Bhundar and Ranjit Brahmpura. During the meeting, both sides deliberated upon the current situation in Punjab and discussed various issues.
Sikh24 has learned that the Sant Samaj leaders have called for the removal of 3 of the 5 Jathedars, namely Giani Gurbachan Singh, Giani Gurmukh Singh and Giani Mal Singh. Sant Samaj leaders apparently recommended some names who could take over the post of Takht Jathedars. As per information received from multiple sources, Bhai Jasbir Singh Rode’s name was put forth by Baba Dhumma.
In regards to the on-going protests in Punjab, Baba Harnaam Singh Dhumma suggested that the wrath of Sikh Sangat could be decreased if the police officers responsible for firing upon the protesters were suspended or shifted out of Punjab. Dhumma suggested the Punjab Government to announce a Special Investigative Team (SIT) at once to calm down Sikh sentiments.
Among other recommendations made by Sant Samaj included parole to Bhai Davinderpal Singh Bhullar and Bhai Gurdeep Singh Khera.
