SRI ANANDPUR SAHIB, Punjab (April 23, 2015)—Punjab government is planning to build a memorial of Bhai Jaita Ji alias Bhai Jiwan Singh Rangreta who brought sacred head of Sri Guru Teg Bahadar Ji at Sri Anandpur Sahib following Guru Ji’s martyrdom in Delhi.
To chalk out the plan, a special meeting was held at Virasat-e-Khalsa which was attended by Punjab assembly speaker Charanjit Singh Atwal, Cabinet minister Gulzar Singh Ranike, Justice Nirmal Singh, former cabinet minister Sarwan Singh Philaur, principal secretary of department of cultural affairs and archaeology Anjali Bhawada, director Navjotpal Singh Randhawa and others.
The ministers and officials examined the place where the memorial has planned to be built.
Talking to media persons, Justice Nirmal Singh said that the land had been provided for the project in Virasat-e-Khalsa, and architect of Guru Nanak Dev University would be assigned to design the building.
He said that detailed information would be provided in the memorial and a cinema would also be constructed in it to provide the information.
The next meeting will be held on 25 May in Chandigarh to give final touch to the plan that would be disclosed on June 30.
