CHANDIGARH, Punjab (March 22, 2015)—Where Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa’s struggle has concluded its 66th day, role of some self-proclaimed Khalistani leaders is being questioned. Through his brother in law, Bhai Lakhwinder Singh Lakha questioned the working of a so-called Panthik organization which claims to be supportive of Khalistan. Bhai Lakha shared a message through his brother in law, Bhai Jang Singh, that he fully supports the struggle initiated by Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa.
Without naming anyone in particular, he referred to such organizations as dubious and asked Sikhs to remain careful of their role in the on-going movement. He appealed to the entire Sikh nation to come forward in raising awareness of Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa’s struggle, and create a public movement to seek release of Sikh political prisoners.
While referring to the continued harassment of Bapu Surat Singh’s family by the Punjab Government, Bhai Lakha stated, “It seems like Sikhs have forgotten their Panthik duty”.
“Prisons couldn’t cool down our sentiments for the Panth, but the luxury facilities seem to have engulfed the whole Panth,” he added.
Bhai Lakha is imprisoned in Chandigarh’s Burail Jail in the Beant “Singh” assassination case.
