Sikh Massacre of Gurgaon: Garg Commission Collects Statements by Hond Chillad Eye Witnesses

Sikh-Genocide-1984-at-Hondh-Chillar-Village-in-Haryana-2CHANDIGARH, Punjab (March 20, 2015)—Garg Commission today commenced debate on massacre of 47 Sikhs and burning of 297 homes of Sikhs in Gurgaon during 1984 Sikh Genocide. Statements of 14 victims of this massacre were recorded today by the Commission.

Bibi Kawaljit Kaur, an eye witness of murder of her mother Sunder Kaur and brother Jinderpal Singh, also gave her statement to the Commission. Beside this, Santokh Singh Sahni also explained his painful story of losing his father Jodh Singh.

Bibi Gurmeet Kaur, S. Parminder Singh, Mata Surjit Kaur, S. Kanwarmanjit Singh, Bibi Charanjit Kaur, S. Jaswant Singh, S. Hari Singh, S. Arwinder Singh, S. Surinder Singh, S. Baldev Singh and Bibi Jasvir Kaur also gave their statements of how their properties were burnt by the Hindu mobs.

Manvinder Singh Giaspura and Bhai Darshan Singh Gholi of Hond Chillad Correspondence Committee explained that the next Court session will be held on April 9. They also informed that the validity of Garg Commission is going to expire on March 31st.  They demanded the Haryana Government to extend the validity of the commission. Bhai Lakhvir Singh Randiala, Bhai Gian Singh Khalsa and Bhai Sanjeev Singh Hissar were also present during the hearing.
